Strike For STEM: First Annual Fund Raiser to Benefit Core Element

On Saturday, November 5, 2011, PIPE (Petroleum Industry Promoting Education) will present Strike for STEM, the first annual fundraiser to benefit Core Element: The Greater New Orleans STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Initiative.  The event will take place from 7 to 9:30 pm at Mid-City Rock ‘n Bowl and will include a sponsor team bowling competition, food, beverages and music  provided by The Boogiemen.

This year's inaugural event is sponsored by PIPE:  Petroleum Industry Promoting Education.  Local Petroleum societies and organizations formed PIPE in 2007 as a collaborative effort to create an information pathway for teachers, students, schools and parents to gain easier access to resources available to help with education, in particular, energy education.

Come join us for a fun night and be a part of our children's future. Help Core Element provide area students with challenging and exciting science activities to stimulate creativity and provide motivation and skills needed to compete in our country's ever expanding need for STEM professionals.
