PIPE: Presenting Sponsor for STRIKE FOR STEMPIPE representative, Jan Catalano states, “We believe that science and math education are vital to the future growth and success of the petroleum industry and overall economic development in oil and gas in the greater New Orleans region. PIPE member organizations represent all aspects of exploration, drilling and production operations in the petroleum industry. We are committed to educating, supporting and increasing the knowledge of our industry in the community. It is through our force of dedicated professionals that our organization is able to make a real difference.” PIPE

societies and organizations work closely with
the Louisiana
Children’s Museum. They hosts special
programs Ms. Catalano points out, “Diversity is important in getting youth interested in science and math. It is important that we support a variety of opportunities for teachers, students and their families to get involved with educational opportunities.” PIPE members support awards at GNOSEF (Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair), sponsors the BLaST (Building Louisiana Science and Technology) First LEGO competition and supports a variety of educational materials for a variety of projects. “As the presenting sponsor of Core Element’s Strike for STEM fundraiser, PIPE (underwritten by American Association of Drilling Engineers-New Orleans Chapter, American Petroleum Institute - Delta Chapter, Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies of New Orleans, National Association of Corrosion Engineers, New Orleans Geological Society, Society of Petroleum Engineers - Delta Section, Southeastern Geophysical Society, Women’s Energy Network, OCSBBS.com, and Schlumberger), now has the opportunity to champion another organization that understands the importance of STEM education.”
